Russian Tarragon is a milder flavoured version of French Tarragon, it is easier to grow and will tolerate and thrive in poorer soils. Tarragon is particularly suitable for chicken, fish and egg dishes.
Russian tarragon is a hardy and vigorous plant. This tarragon actually prefers poor soils and happily tolerates drought and neglect. The young stems in early spring can be cooked as an asparagus substitute.
