A wonderful old wild rose, violet-red form of "Rugosa", sweet fragrant, flowers from June to October, used as a hedge, thorny, hips in autumn. Great to plant as a hedge! Rugosa rose Rubra is a tough, healthy rose and loved by the bees! Rose hips produce excellent winter feeding for wildlife and wild birds as they are filled with delicious seeds. Rosa is a very fast growing species with a rambling habit and as they are filled with thorns make an excellent barrier to keep intruders out.
